CABARET BRAUTIGAN

A musical and plastic translation of Richard Brautigan's poetry

Performance in production

Cabaret Brautigan is a multi-media project. It is a musical and plastic translation of Richard Brautigan's poems. It associates the french-american Royal Noir ensemble with four visual artists to create a scenic form and a series of musical video clips. At the middle of a white stage, four musicians are warming up. Above their heads, surtitles appear on a screen. It is the title of one of Brautigan's poems. At the same time, four figures enter which we call "ninja-artists". Their role is to transform the white stage into colors, smoke or chinese dragon... From this visual and musical performance, develops a sort of "open air subconscious" in order to resonate Brautigan's poetry.
